Teaching Children to Know God at an Early Age:
In Adventurers, we hope to train the children to love Jesus, to study his word and hide God’s word in their hearts so that they will grow up with the desire to walk with Him throughout their lives. Changes we are hoping to make include having a more vibrant Adventurer club. Bringing in new members; encouraging counselors to spend more time preparing the lessons so children find them more interesting. This can be achieved through more collaboration and coordination of lessons for each class; and through training of the counselors. I am hoping some to the counselors will be able to attend Leadership Training. Ultimately, the goal is to keep the Adventurer club alive and thriving by recruiting new members and counselors.
Inspiration:
I had previously been an Adventurer counselor for a few years. So when the then director decided to move into a new position, it was thrust upon me and I accepted the challenge. I hope to learn how to be an effective leader. I bring a willing heart, an eagerness to learn and a fervent desire to serve the Lord and the church. Our young people are our future. So, the Adventurer club has a tremendous role to play in shaping our youth to love the word of God, to enjoy church so they will want to continue in service for the Lord. This will be achieved if we are able to kindle the flame in their hearts that will gradually become a fire for Jesus.
Winning souls for the Kingdom…..
I would love to recruit more children to join the Adventurer club. To that end, we plan on organizing a day to go into the surrounding communities to tell families about the Club and invite them to come and see what it is all about. We want to continue this outreach until we are able to invest them into the club and church. Through the enthusiasm and preparedness of the counselors, and going out and inviting community members, prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit, we hope to see new members come into the body of Christ.
